New Character and New Adventures!

So I log into deviantART today to check on my account, something I haven't done in about 3 weeks. While looking through feedback, I notice the fan art contest available to promote the new Diablo 3 Expansion, and was like "Whoaaaa, I totally have to enter that!!!". The problem? Only 8 hours left to enter! Its times like these that I kick myself for not being more aware of what is happening in the world.

With what time I had, I threw this piece together, and uploaded it with about 1 hour left to spare on the entry clock. I went with a standard 3D model and some photoshop edits for the blue flame in the crusader's right hand. I used a picture of a pizza pan to act as a metal texture for the scratched armor, and some wood photos taken from the banister of my porch for the stone hallway, with some coloration edits. I also did a little experiment, since with too little time to model an actual head, I simply added a cut portion of an eye from one of my own photographs, so yeah, that's my eye inside the helmet .

I have to say, it was really fun, working with a time limit, and reminded me a bit of what I have been missing by not creating art these past few weeks. Anyway, thanks to all involved who made this contest a reality for people to enter, and on that note, good luck to all the entrants! It was very fun!!!
