Sophia the 3rd Model Sheet by MechaKraken Sophia the 3rd Model Sheet by MechaKraken
I wanna model Sophia (the tank from Blaster Master) next, so I created this simple model sheet to assist me. I used the profile view from the start menu in the NES game as a reference, to construct the front and back views in the sheet. If you want to use this for your modeling, go right ahead =)

Thanks a lot! I'm modeling it right now myself, things are going great. Learning a few things from the Low Poly pix group really helped too, I'm starting to get a sense that less is more when it comes to modeling =)

Should you do a high-poly version first then break it down to low-poly? or keep it all low-poly from the beginning?

I was planning on keeping things simple from the start. I was told that with robots and other mechanical things, having everything modeled into a seperate piece would be the best way to go. And to keep the polys on those individual pieces down. I would model the turret as one piece. The turret barrel as one piece. The wheels as one piece. The hubcaps as one piece. And so on.

Because in real life, that is how they are constructed - piece by piece. Not like us humans, who are all one piece. That's why Bender from Futurama calls us "Fleshbags" =)
